///Home--Current Projects
A quick listing of most of our major current and planned projects.
///Libr8 projects:
Mini-comics: We plan to write, draw, and comission a series of miniature comic books (to be printed on one double-sided sheet of 8x11 paper each) demonstrating anarchist/libertarian socialist principles in an accessible and entertaining fashion. These books will be free for anyone to print and small enough to be distributed discreetly in public areas such as restrooms, waiting rooms, and public transportation.
Libr8 Study Guides for the Lazy: There's a lot of really great classic political literature out there. Unfortunately, it's all long, stuffed with weird esoteric language, and above all, old. The Libr8 Study Guides will seek to remedy this problem by providing editorial summaries of this literature, converting it into contemporary language and illustrating how it's relevant to modern times.
Other propaganda and library projects: In addition to the comics and the study guides, the Libr8 website will feature a growing collection of other free printable items such as posters, flyers, brochures, and articles, as well as store items such as shirts, stickers, artwork, etc..
Non-English Language Project: This project will seek to get Libr8 materials, as well as the Libr8 website itself, presented in as many non-English translations as possible, beginning with Spanish.
Libr8 Podcast: The Libr8 website will periodically feature a downloadable audio podcast featuring Ryan and Lauren. We'll dissect people and culture, recent news, social issues and patterns of the radical movement in what we sincerely hope will be an entertaining, or at least, unique fashion.
///Coyote's Den projects:
The Coyote's Den will be located in Fort Collins, CO and serve as the physical headquarters for our group's radical activity. It will contain the following:
Infoshop Library: A free lending library of activist reading, but with our own twist; in addition to containing classics of anarchist (and other) political literature, our library will contain popular books, music, movies and videos that we feel demonstrate important radical themes. Every item in the library will contain a printed insert explaining why we recommend it. The purpose of this project will be to demonstrate the ways in which the ideals we fight for are the very same ones that permeate a great deal of beloved popular culture.
The Coyote's Den Mainstage: Will be a performance venue for musical and theatrical ventures, as well as speakers. Mainstage features will generally have a political bent, but there will also be performances just for the sake of good entertainment and for fundraising.
Community Center: The Community Center will include resources for community members in need (including a "one stop shop" list of other local organizations providing assistance), self-education resources (such as a computer lab) and a free meeting space for small or new organizations or workers' groups.
Cafe: A unique snack and beverage bar featuring an extensive tea selection and organic, fair trade, independently roasted coffee.
Store: The store will feature our shirts and other items featuring our slogans, as well as books, movies, artwork and curiousity items related to our propaganda movement.
Coyote's Den worker's co-op project: The Coyote's Den will continually work to expand its business, activism, and membership with all workers as equal owners and controllers of our organization's resources. The co-op project will be an ongoing effort to observe our successes and failures in these efforts in order to provide advice and a model for others wishing to start similar ventures. Work assignments will be determined based upon the needs of the organization/community and the abilities of the workers. Compensation is based upon meeting the needs of individual workers according to their circumstances. Some goals for workers will include good living allowances (adjusted for support of family), health insurance, vacation, retirement, on-site childcare and/or child-welcome work environments, flexible scheduling and shorter work weeks.
Libr8 Foundation: The ultimate goal of the for-profit segments of Project Libr8 and The Coyote's Den (after support of our workers) will be the creation of the Libr8 Foundation. The Libr8 Foundation will be a financial establishment devoted to supporting revolutionary action and the working class. Grants will be given in solidarity to non-profit, activist, and charity organizations with goals compatible to ours, or to help new organizations start up. The foundation will also seek to provide financial support to striking workers and political prisoners in need of legal defense.
///What else?
Members of Libr8 will continually be active in protest and political action both globally and locally. This will include protests, public awareness campaigns, calls for direct action, and community organization.
